How do you Identify?

I'm reading the book Atomic Habits by James Clear and it has some interesting concepts about how changing your identity - the way you talk to yourself- is highly effective in changing your habits from the inside out.

Do any of these statements sound like the story you tell yourself?

"I'm always tired."

"I'm a messy person."

"I'm not very organized."

"I'm overwhelmed."

"I can't get on top of the clutter."

"I'm too busy."

"I don't make enough money."

"I wish I was a better mom."

"I wish I had more time for my kids."

These are all things I've thought or said about myself in the past and still say to myself now and then. But what if you changed the narrative?

"I take care of myself so I have energy and feel good."

"I am learning better organization systems and routines."

"I am working on simplifying my life."

"I'm a minimalist."

"I make time for my priorities."

"I am saving for my future."

"I am a good mom and am intentional with my kids."

Simply by reframing these statements, you are able to identify actionable changes to help you change. Oftentimes the external reality might not be so bad but when we view it and ourselves in a negative light we get discouraged and our lives deteriorate further. Let's change the narrative and our habits will also change!

What's one statement you can reframe? I'd love to hear!
