Low Maintenance Gardening

With three young children, I don't have much time for gardening, especially as it isn't something I particularly enjoy. However, I do love having flowers and a beautiful yard!

My solution is to have lots of low maintenance perennials and flowering bushes! I thought I'd share some of my favorites!

!. Echinacea Easy perennial that returns later summer every year with beautiful, sturdy pink flowers!

2. Black-eyed Susans

Similar to Echinacea, this cheery, hardy perennial will expand as well!

3. Daffodils

Plant the bulbs in the fall and enjoy every spring!

4. Tulips

Bulbs just like daffodils!

5. Lilies

Lilies will bloom late spring to early summer. They are also bulbs and return every year! There is a wide variety of colors available.

6. Lilac bush

Blooms late to mid spring with gorgeous purple flowers!

7. Hydrangea

Depending on the PH of your soil and the type you buy, Hydrangea blooms vary in color from white to blue to purple to pink to red!

8. Butterfly Bush

With purple or pink blooms, this whimsical bush also attracts butterflies to your yard!

9. Peonies

Large, beautiful blooms in a variety of colors! Blooms later spring to early summer.

10. Azalea

This easy bush also comes in a variety of pinks, oranges, reds and white! Blooms late spring.

11. Forsythia

And finally, the forsythia bush blooms in early spring, it's cheerful yellow flowers signaling the start of warmer weather!
